Raksha Tiwari Named Working Mother of the Year for Zoetis
Raksha Tiwari, senior principal scientist at the Zoetis Research & Development headquarters in Kalamazoo, Mich., has been named by Zoetis as the company’s 2015 Working Mother of the Year. Ms. Tiwari joined Zoetis in 2008 and has made significant contributions to the development of the company’s animal health solutions that serve both veterinarians and livestock producers.
Raksha Tiwari, Senior Principal Scientist at Zoetis, with husband Parag Chary and
daughters Aarna (3) and Radha (7).
“When I joined Zoetis I was seven months pregnant, and my manager offered me a flexible work schedule, which helped me to excel at work while balancing a new baby at home,” said Ms. Tiwari. “I also felt fortunate to be with a company that allowed me to pursue a career as a research scientist and explore several different therapeutic areas of interest to me. Because of these opportunities, I worked on a range of projects from the early stages of research to the later stages of product development and approval. I was able to grow professionally -- and personally with my family -- while making an impact on the company and the animal health industry.”
Ms. Tiwari now has two daughters, ages seven and three. “Zoetis allows me to be there when they need me,” she said. “I hope to continue shaping the supportive culture for working mothers at Zoetis.”
