Supporting Local Farmers in Thailand

Zoetis hosts a unique event to connect the local food community with the public
At Zoetis, we’re committed to making a difference in the communities where we operate. After a challenging economic year for Thailand’s animal health industry, our colleagues wanted to support the country’s local farmers and producers who were affected by low agriculture prices. Working together as One Zoetis, colleagues from across the business organized a unique three-day street festival called “From Farm to Table” to connect the public with a large offering of high quality Thai products. The event took place outside the Zoetis office, which is located on the busy Silom Road in Bangkok, where thousands of people walk each day. The proprietors of United Center Building, where the Zoetis office is located, also supported the event.
Safe and Affordable Local Food
A focus was placed on increasing brand awareness of high quality, local quality products. “We wanted to showcase the great local farms that are delivering high quality, safe, fresh products directly to the consumer,” said Arkhom Cheewakriengkrai, Vice President and General Manager, Southeast Asia and South Asia Cluster. “There was a mix of medium and major-scale producers, and the Farm to Table event was a good opportunity for those less experienced in exhibiting and promoting their products to connect with their customers.” Some notable names present included Thaifoods, Sunfood, VPF, Saha Farms, CPF, and Betagro, and lesser known brands experienced the benefit of being positioned next to these big industry players, many of which are already household names in Thailand.
From sausage to meat loaf, eggs to ice cream, there were many varieties of food for people to taste and buy with 25 exhibitors in attendance. “We are very proud to see that most of the products available were sold out. It was great to see consumers sampling new products that they will likely buy again in the future,” said Theerachai Wongcharoo, General Manager, Thailand.
Some of the exhibitors used the special event as a platform to launch new products and menus. “I extend a warm thank you to Zoetis for its promotion of Thai food safety. From Farm to Table served as a terrific opportunity for us to launch our new premium Kurobuta pork menu,” said Jaturong Yotharat, Senior Vice President, CPF.
Judpol Wannakasem, Managing Director, TT Western Farm, also expressed thanks to Zoetis for providing support to the local community through the event.
The Farm to Table event was an important step as Zoetis Thailand and the animal health industry work to support farmers in exploring opportunities for product line expansion, delivering ever better products and increasing brand awareness.
