On August 30, more than 3,000 dog owners and their pets gathered in Buenos Aires, Argentina for the ever-popular DOGRUN, a street race where participants may run or walk with their dogs. The event, sponsored for the fourth year by Zoetis, aimed to raise awareness among dog owners about the importance of regular veterinary care for their pets. The event also highlighted the vital role that veterinarians play in protecting animal health.

To ensure that dogs were in good health and able to run in the race, all participants were required to present a health certificate to one of the DOGRUN veterinarians before the race began. The event also gave veterinarians and Zoetis colleagues the opportunity to speak with pet owners about how they can best care for their animals.

"Veterinarians are crucial partners in the education of pet owners on how they can best care for their animals," said Federico Sebben, Zoetis Companion Animal Business Unit Lead in Argentina. "Along with our other educational activities, these DOGRUN events help to promote the importance of bringing pets to veterinary clinics for regular check-ups. They also affirm Zoetis’ commitment both to animal wellness and to advancing the veterinary profession.”

Ongoing Program

The event runs twice a year – once in the Argentine capital, and once in the major city of Rosario. The next event is scheduled for October 4, 2015.
