Dr. Richard Goldstein is Senior Vice President, Global Chief Medical Officer and Head of Medical Affairs at Zoetis, the world’s leading animal health company and a member of the Fortune 500. He is an internationally recognized leader in companion animal medicine with three decades of experience spanning clinical care, academia, diagnostics and pharmaceutical innovation. 

At Zoetis, Dr. Goldstein is committed to enhancing animal welfare worldwide. His dedication extends across borders and species, exploring innovative approaches that address the diverse health challenges animals face. He works intimately with the global veterinary community, inside and outside of Zoetis, advocating for a synergistic approach to animal care that’s steeped in progress, innovation, and fulfillment. He also leads a best-in-industry Global Medical Affairs team providing global resources for pipeline, innovation and business development medical support, diagnostics, outcomes research, academic affairs, and medical research. 

Dr. Goldstein joined Zoetis in 2018 as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Global Diagnostics. Prior to Zoetis, he was Chief Medical Officer of The Stephen & Christine Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, the world’s largest non-profit specialty animal hospital.

Dr. Goldstein is board certified by both the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He received his bachelor’s degree from the Institute of Biological Sciences, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, his DVM from Koret School of Veterinary Medicine, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He completed his small animal internal medicine residency at the University of California, Davis. 

He began his career in academia at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he was an associate professor of internal medicine.
