Zoetis colleagues make a difference in their communities throughout the year, but especially during the holidays, when giving is such an important part of celebrating the season.

Below are a few examples of Zoetis holiday initiatives that support the communities where we operate, one of our six corporate social responsibility pillars that you can read more about here.

In Brazil, colleagues from each part of the country (Field Force, São Paulo, and the two manufacturing sites, Campinas and Guarulhos) gathered to make the holidays happier for children in need through two institutions, Nucleo Batuíra and the community Parque Oziel. Each colleague had the opportunity to “adopt” one or more child by providing holiday gifts. More than 330 children will receive Zoetis colleagues’ help, and in the spirit of One Zoetis, each colleague prepared gift packages that contained one toy, clothing and a sweet. The gifts will be delivered to the children before December 25th.

Zoetis Canada (Logistics and Supply Teams) sponsor a food drive for donations to needy families over the holidays. Donations include non-perishable food items, personal hygiene items, gifts for small children, or cash donations for turkeys. All donations go the West Island Community Shares organization, which provides support to over 60,000 people annually in their community who face hunger, cancer, poverty, depression and suicidal thoughts, autism, bullying, substance abuse and more. They work with almost 40 different charity organizations.

In Italy, Zoetis supported the farmers and food companies affected by the earthquakes that devastated Italian villages in August and October this year with different projects. Instead of their usual holiday gesture for local colleagues, the Zoetis Italy leadership team purchased products from the affected farmers and food companies for colleagues to show support for their compatriots. In Southern Europe, Zoetis also purchased a large amount of food from these farmers to donate to the Community of Sant’Egidio, an international organization that helps the homeless and needy people in Rome and surrounding areas.  In an act of solidarity for their Italian colleagues, Zoetis in Dublin gifted colleagues with food items from the same program.

In Kalamazoo, Mich., the Zoetis Veterinary Medical Research and Developmentteam continued their multi-year partnership with Family & Children Services, Gull Lake Community, and Comstock Community Center in their “Bright Holidays” program. This program allows Zoetis colleagues to provide local children in need with gifts during the holidays.  This year, the Zoetis Kalamazoo “elves” are providing 150 children with holiday gifts through the program.
