DOGRUN in Argentina Promotes the Importance of Responsible Pet Ownership and the Vital Role of Veterinarians

On September 28, more than 1,250 dog owners and their pets gathered in Rosario, Argentina for the ever-popular DOGRUN, a street race where participants may run or walk with their dogs. The event, sponsored for the third year by Zoetis, aimed to raise awareness among dog owners about the importance of regular veterinary care for their pets. The event also highlighted the vital role that veterinarians play in protecting animal health.

"As in each of our markets across the world, veterinarians are crucial partners in the education of pet owners on how they can best care for their animals," said Federico Sebben, Companion Animal Business Unit Manager for Zoetis, Southern Latin America.  "Alongside our ongoing educational activities, these DOGRUN events help to promote the importance of regular visits to veterinary clinics.”

The DOGRUN is held twice a year in Argentina. In May, the event took place in Buenos Aires and attracted over 5,000 dog owners. The run encourages dog owners to exercise with their pets and families and offers three levels of participation – a 5K run, a 3K run/walk and a 1K walk for parents and children.

“At Zoetis, we believe the connection between humans and animals is one of the most fundamental bonds that human beings experience,” said Maria Belen Garabello, Zoetis Marketing Manager, Companion Animal in Argentina. “We were thrilled to sponsor the DOGRUN events in Argentina as a way of celebrating the importance of canine companionship. These events affirm our commitment both to animal wellness and to advancing the veterinary profession.”
