Through the support of Zoetis, the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF), the Animal Connections: Our Journey Together educational exhibit is visiting zoos, veterinary schools, animal health conferences, state fairs and community events across the United States. The exhibit explores and celebrates the enduring bond we all share with animals – from pets to livestock to animals in the wild – and the vital role that veterinarians play.

To date, the exhibit has made 28 stops and has attracted over 40,000 people to learn more about animals in the home, on the farm, at the zoo, in the wild and at veterinary clinics.

About Animal Connections

Animal Connections is a 1,000-square-foot exhibit housed in an 18-wheel truck. It features informative videos, veterinarian talks and interactive displays.

Visitors can learn about everything from selecting the right pet and the dangers of ''people food'' for furry friends to large-animal veterinary tools. Through touch screens, visitors can also examine and diagnose virtual patients: a dog, piglet and cheetah.

"We are proud to bring the Animal Connections exhibit to so many communities in the U.S.," said Dr. Christine Jenkins, U.S. Chief Veterinary Medical Officer at Zoetis. "As part of our commitment to veterinarians and the animal health industry, the exhibit celebrates both the deep connection we have with animals and the pivotal role veterinarians play in maintaining animals' health and well-being."

Zoetis Commitment to Veterinarians

Zoetis is proud to support Animal Connections: Our Journey Together. The exhibition affirms the company’s commitment to veterinarians as we strive to enhance the understanding of the vital role veterinary professionals play in protecting animal health and, in so doing, safeguarding human health. Zoetis aims for the exhibit to inspire young people to pursue careers in veterinary medicine and the allied professions.

Zoetis works every day to better understand and address the real-world challenges faced by those who raise and care for animals in ways they find truly relevant. We believe the connection between humans and animals is one of the most fundamental bonds that human beings experience. We are excited to introduce the exhibition to everyday citizens by showing the impact of animal health and demonstrating our dedication to the veterinarians and livestock producers on which we all depend.
